Seniors’ Picnic @ Gage Park ON Date: August 16, 2025

Picnic

Place: Gage Park Brampton,
Date: August 16, 2025,
Time: 10:00 AM –6:00 PM,
Theme: Engaging Seniors and Alleviating Loneliness,
Registration: 175 seniors,

All attendees were welcomed by Mr. Amit Bhatt. Snacks were served around 11:30 AM.

Guests

Guests from all levels of government were invited, including Brampton’s Honourable Mayor, MPs, MPPs, and City Councillors:

All seniors greeted the guests warmly. The guests conveyed their best wishes to seniors on the occasions of Indian Independence Day and Janmashtami. Many attendees took photos with the distinguished guests and enjoyed conversations with them.

Snacks

Everyone enjoyed hot snacks under the shade of trees while spending time with friends.

Games and Activities

The games organizer announced four games, all aimed at supporting seniors’ mental and physical well-being. The coordinator, with help from two volunteers, arranged the games according to the seniors’ comfort and health conditions.

Game 1: Ribbon Game

Game 2: Tissue Box Challenge

Participants had to pull out tissues from a box one by one as fast as possible until the box was empty.

Lunch

All attendees enjoyed a delicious hot lunch served by volunteers. Seniors sat with their friends and spent quality time together.

Game 3: Numbers Game (Two Parts)

This game supported mental alertness, memory, and fast responses.
Participants were divided into two groups:
 Group 1: Numbers 1–10
 Group 2: Numbers 11–20

Game 4: Listen and Act Quickly

This game benefited seniors’ physical coordination and mental alertness.

Overall Experience

The coordinator successfully engaged all the seniors with four enjoyable and meaningful games. Seniors loved participating, and spectators cheered for their friends and family members. The activities supported both mental and physical well-being.
All the golden-agers had a wonderful time at the picnic.

Dinner (4:00–5:00 PM)

A hot dinner with a variety of dishes from diverse cultures was served. Seniors enjoyed the pleasant weather, the tasty food, and the abundance of meals available for all club members.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, volunteers helped pack up the picnic and remove all decorations and supplies.
Mr. Amit Bhatt closed the event with a warm message:
“Thank you everyone for coming to our picnic today! It was a beautiful day for an outdoor meal, filled with good company and fresh air. I hope you all had a wonderful time, and I look forward to seeing you at our next gathering.”
